Little Free Library opens in Fenelon

The first Little Free Library in Fenelon Falls is now officially open for business!

IMG_6971The Fenelon Falls Little Free Library was constructed as part of a Rotary District 7010 project to promote reading to all members of our community. Professional photographer Karen Suggitt of Baddow Road Photography and her pictures are featured on the walls of the Little Free Library.

Little Free Libraries is a non-profit organization originally established in Wisconsin in 2009.  This past year, District 7010 Rotary International (of which Fenelon Falls is a member) focused their attention on Little Free Libraries in our District.  They were inspired by community gift-sharing networks, “TAKE A BOOK, LEAVE A BOOK” collections in coffee shops and public spaces.

Access to the library is available when the Community Centre is open.  The Community Centre seemed an appropriate site for placement as there are a variety of groups that use the community Centre for a range of activities. We hope that the Little Free Library will have books for all reading tastes.

Your Little Free Library can be found in the Lobby of The Fenelon Falls Community Centre (adjacent to the door leading to the Rotary Room).
