Google Your Business

October 19, 2016
More and more people are finding out about Fenelon Falls on the internet. How is your company represented on Google? The world’s second largest platform, next to Facebook. Join Shannon Bain from the Fenelon Falls & District Chamber of Commerce to learn more about how to put your business on the Google map!

Google Business is all about connecting you to your customers. Give them the right info at the right time, whether that be driving directions to your business in Maps, hours of operations in Search or a phone number they can click to call you on mobile phones. Of course, Google is only the tip of the internet iceberg, but it’s a great place to start.

Bring your laptops and devices to the Library and enjoy their free wifi. While there, be sure to register for a library card or make sure the one in your wallet is still current if you haven’t used it in a while. The Library is a huge, free resource that is right in town and accessible online. Not just for books anymore, the library offers books on CD if your job takes you out on the road, and Gale Courses you can take at home online, and much more.

Put Your Business On The Map (Sept. 2016)

September 20, 2016

google your business with the Chamber

The Fenelon Falls & District Chamber of Commerce is joining forces with the Fenelon library to celebrate two very important parts of our community. Libraries and Small Businesses! Ontario Library Week, which encourages residents to visit the library whether online or in person, and BDC Small Business Week, an annual celebration of entrepreneurship that the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) has organized for almost 40 years.

During Small Business Week each year, more than 10,000 business people come together at hundreds of events across Canada to celebrate entrepreneurship, learn and network with other entrepreneurs.  Great things happen when entrepreneurs get together. The Fenelon Chamber is excited to host an event at the library for local entrepreneurs and business owners that need help with online fundamentals, like locating your business on google maps and taking control of your google profile.

“This year we are excited to introduce our first ever Cake Walk downtown Fenelon Falls,” says Stacie Tasker, Event Coordinator. “Come out and enjoy an evening full of shopping and fun. All proceeds from the Cake Walk will be donated to The Spirit of Christmas at Fenelon Falls Secondary School.”

The event will be featuring a live DJ downtown Fenelon as well as a live band at the corner of Oak Street and Water Street.  Check out the balloon twister, snack stops, airbrush tattoos and creative face painting! That is not all, visit your local participating stores for deals, draws and most of all shopping.

The Fenelon Falls Events Committee, a division of the Fenelon Falls Chamber of Commerce, is a volunteer committee of local business owners and residents of Fenelon Falls. With the sponsorship of over 60 local businesses this committee provides a festive community atmosphere all year round while also helping to promote Fenelon Falls as a tourist destination. The 7 events hosted by the committee could not be possible without the generous participation and sponsorship of local businesses.
