A Love Letter to Meddling Mothers (Oct. 2016)

‘The Meddler’ screens October 25, 2016 in Fenelon Falls

When mothering meets texting, watch out for new heights of meddling! Films by the Falls’ October movie is the comedy-drama “The Meddler”, starring Susan Sarandon and Rose Byrne as a mother and daughter struggling to find peace in a relationship that’s gone technical. “I’m an unapologetic meddler,” says Sarandon, whose ability to relate to her character shows in her masterful performance as Marnie, the new owner of an iPhone who moves to L.A. to be closer to her single daughter.

v2“The Meddler” was written and directed by Lorene Scafaria and closely mirrors her own experience. “Of course, it’s about a mom that can drive you crazy sometimes by caring too much, but it’s also about what she’s doing when you’re not calling her back” Scafaria says. All of mom’s caring energy needs to go somewhere, and audiences will be delighted to see what new paths are forged by Marnie’s redirected meddling.

Tickets for ‘The Meddler’ cost $10 each and will be available at the door on October 25, 2016 or in advance starting October 11th at Sweet Bottoms Coffee – 19 Colborne St, Fenelon Falls. Season Passes are $25 for 3 movies available at the door. Doors open at 6:30 PM with the feature presentation beginning at 7:30 PM. Fenelon Falls Secondary School is located at 66 Lindsay St. Films by the Falls screens movies on the last Tuesday of each month from September to May (excluding December).
